About Michele

What do you love about working for Bain Capital Ventures?

Everyone is so smart, hardworking, humble and kind — a rare and powerful combination! I love the camaraderie of relentlessly pursuing a shared goal and am very grateful to be part of this team and work with founders.

What are your interests and passions outside of BCV?

I love journaling, writing and reading. I’ve always been moved by both beautiful / evocative prose and clear, honest arguments and my favorite class in college was a fiction writing seminar. If you have any reading recommendations, or have a good system of note-taking and keeping track of learnings from things you read, I’m all ears. I am also passionate about mentorship / educational equity and enjoy volunteering with Apex for Youth.

What is a self-care ritual you practice?

Quality time with family and friends and being outdoors.

What is compelling about your domain?

I initially fell in love with computer science after scouring obscure Android developer forums so I could jailbreak my first phone, and originally became interested in apps and infra companies as a user of both. It’s exciting to see how well-made products can have an outsized impact on the users, communities and industries they serve. Application software is fascinating because it changes how everyone works, learns, pays for things, communicates and moves through the world. And new technology and research is unlocking more than people ever thought possible. On the other hand, infrastructure is especially compelling not only because of the impressive technical work required to build these products, but also because of how infra tools can make many engineering tasks far easier and lower the barrier to building new things.

What do you look for when you partner with a founder?

Passion for the problem they are working to solve, empathy for the stakeholders, resilience, leadership, alignment in values.

What inspires you?

My parents — they immigrated to the US and sacrificed so much to provide a better future for my sister and me. They are the hardest-working people I know.
