About Angela

What do you love about working for Bain Capital Ventures?

The team! My colleagues are endlessly kind, thoughtful and incredibly sharp. I learn so much from them every day and I’m incredibly grateful to work with such a fantastic team.

What are your interests and passions outside of BCV?

I enjoy staying active through running and attending workout classes. I also love to read and particularly enjoy memoirs, great classic fiction and anything by Joan Didion. My favorite recent reads have been In Love by Amy Bloom, The Black Swan by Nassim Taleb, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, by Gabrielle Zevin.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Take your work seriously, but take yourself a little less seriously. And spend more time with your parents!

What is a self-care ritual you practice?

I set aside time each week to journal and reflect on work, friendships, health, everything! Life can move so quickly that sometimes I’ll barely remember to stop and take stock of everything that’s happened in a week. I also love looking back on what I’ve written years ago and seeing how much I’ve grown.

What is compelling about your domain?

Infrastructure is incredibly exciting because it’s the tech that tech buys — these companies power the rest of the industry. Moreover, infra sits at the bottom of the tech stack, which means that the decisions made at the infrastructure level affect the entire tech ecosystem. It’s very exciting to bear witness to those sweeping changes and partner with the founders driving them.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the people around me who show me what it means to truly love what you do, and excel at it.
